Roasted Chilies
Peaceful Belly loves the smell of fresh roasted chilies at market and so do our followers at the Saturday market. We plant over 1000 New Mexican type chili plants to help feed the chilie hungry folks of Boise. We grow all of our plants from seed. We feel like you have never had a good New Mexican Chili until you have had one grown in Idaho’s soil.
Years ago Clay and Josie attended a wedding in Colorado. Of course they checked out the farmers market and in the middle of the market a man had a huge drum style chili roaster. Josie came home with pictures and her uncle Mark soon whipped out a Idaho style roaster. We have been roasting chilies for 7 years at the Saturday market in Boise and every year we plant a few more plants.
The roaster will be at the market at the end of July and we will have chilies until October. Keep checking this page for more information about our chilies.
